Download the app now for free in the App Store!

The popular magazine comes to the Apple tablet with a distinct features set, containing three sections:

–          Media Screen, covering the best of HUMO

–          Social TV, your social TV companion

–          Magazine, your HUMO on iPad

After opening the app, you will land on the Media Screen containing the best of Humo’s website articles, with a focus on the TV content. All articles are brought together under topics such as TVreviews, Actua and Video. When tapping on one of them, a flipreader opens which makes it very easy to consume. Moreover, every article can be shared via facebook, twitter or email; recommended articles appear on the right side of the screen. Humo fans will also enjoy the typical content Humo stands for such as ‘Uitlaat’ and ‘Cartoons’.

In the brand new Social TV Guide, HUMO reinvents itself on the iPad. With the Humo app at your fingertips you can discuss, comment and criticize with other peers who are watching the same programs. Also let your twitter and Facebook followers know what you are watching so that they can join you. Very original is the frameset that has been developed to browse through TV programs. Next to the TV guide you will find ‘now on TV’, ‘Popular programs’ and ‘Humo’s selection’ which enables you to discover new interesting programs.

Finally, a Humo app wouldn’t be a Humo app without the Magazine. The app offers the complete magazine in a smooth high quality pdf . Subscribers of the paper magazine can download the iPad version for free, non-subscribers can buy the digital magazine for 2,39€.

After launching De Standaard and NRC Handelsblad, another publisher benefits from MobileWeb’s Publishing Platform to get their content on the tablet. If you wish to receive more information about the MobileWeb Publishing Platform and services, please send a mail to contact@mobileweb.be.

Download now the new iPhone/iPad app of NRC!

Today, an update of the dutch newspaper NRC Handelsblad has been launched on iPad and iPhone. The app is built on the MobileWeb’s publishing platform and offers readers of NRC a new interface of the newspaper.

What strikes the most when downloading the app is the downloadspeed. When tapping the newspaper to start to download, the app will already open after having downloaded the first pages. This way you only need to wait for about 30 seconds.

Just as the previous app, readers can easily browse the newspaper in its original way by zooming in and out and in a ‘more digital’ way. The latter way provides the full newspaper nicely converted towards a more iPad look and feel. A contents column at the left shows all articles, which are displayed fully at the right side of the screen. Another nice feature is that you can easily adapt the size of the text.

In case you want to read the live headlines, this is made possible via the ‘Live Nieuws’ feed. You can find all the news articles in an easy readable format. When you find an article you like you can share it via Facebook, Twitter and Email.

In a nutshell, what’s new:

–         Live news feed

–         Sharing of articles via twitter, facebook and email

–         Read later function

–         Link to NRC In Beeld

–         Save up to 30 newspapers

–         Go back to old newspaper up until 30 days (Archive)

The new app of NRC is now available in the iTunes AppStore. With this new version NRC has taken an important next step into the e-reader and digital newspaper market, by combining its attractive content with its digital subscription system.

This innovative application has been developed in just a couple of weeks time. The development cycle has been short as the application was developed on the MobileWeb Mobile Publishing platform. This platform offers media companies and publishers a fast track to get their content on a variety of mobile devices (smartphones and tablets). If you wish to receive more information about our Mobile Publishing Platform and services, please send a mail to contact@mobileweb.be.

De Standaard launches new iPad optimised edition

Today, De Standaard presented a new iPad version of its digital newspaper. De Standaard 3 is a revolution in mobile publishing and unique in its kind in the Benelux. It sets the benchmark for all future news tablet applications.

Next to the regular pdf version, users can switch to a specific tablet designed version of the paper, optimised for the iPad. Articles are structured in a clever way to fit the screen and offer a unique reading and handling experience. The content is instantly available without any scrolling or pinching. The readers get their news as they are used to, but can experience the uniqueness of the iPad. Simple touch and swipe handlings will allow to browse through the content. A well designed news overview makes it also very easy to jump directly to the desired section.

The importancy of news photos is given a central place in the application. At startup, the app shows the most important news images of the day. De Standaard 3 lets you also view, with a simple click, all the images of the newspaper and more in a superb full screen quality.

2deScherm now available with an interactive program guide

Today, SBSBelgium released an important update of its 2deScherm application on iPad, iPhone, iPod & Android. The app goes beyond its initial target group of ‘Komen Eten’ or ‘Huizenjacht’ and integrates now an interactive electronic program guide (EPG).

With the start of the new TV season, 2deScherm expands its functionalities towards the whole Flemish TV audience. The app does not only give an overview of the programs of VT4 and VijfTV, but also integrates other dutch speaking channels (één, canvas, VTM, NED1, …).

When opening the iPad app, the user will see a clever designed TV grid. Other than similar EPG apps, 2deScherm uses appealing pictures to visualize the individual formats. This results in a beautiful mosaic effect. In addition, behind every picture (or program) there is a specific page related to the TV show including: pictures, videos, content description, a chat and Twitter wall.

The 2deScherm user can also give ratings on TV shows. The overall ratings are visible on the TV grid. This will motivate people to select TV programs not only on content or popularity, but also following the ratings of other 2deScherm users. A new way of watching TV !

Next to the new EPG module, the existing formats of ‘Komen Eten’ and ‘Huizenjacht’ continue with new episodes starting today.

MobileWeb was in charge for the development of the application and broadens with it, its portfolio in Social TV mobile applications.

The 2deScherm app is available on iPad and iPhone, the Android app will be updated later this week.
