SMS 4666: MobileWeb and operators join forces to help Haiti earthquake victims

MobileWeb.be and the Belgian mobile operators Proximus, Mobistar and Base have joined forces to raise money for the victims of the earthquake in Haiti.

Tuesday January 12th, a severe earthquake with a magnitude of 7 on the scale of Richter has hit the poor western province of Haiti, a region of 2,2 million inhabitants.  The disaster has caused several thousands of victims, many severily wounded and an enormous material damage.  Several humanitarian groups and organisations have rushed to the disaster area to give support.

What can we do?
For every SMS message, containing the word JA or OUI sent to the shortcode 4666, you donate 1 euro to this action.  MobileWeb.be and the mobile operators have offered their services free of charge, so all donations will be entirely funded to the humanitarian organisations.
The action will run until January 31st.

Act now and help Haiti:

> send YES to 4666 (1 euro/sms)
> stuur JA naar 4666 (1 euro/sms)
> envoyez OUI au 4666 (1 euro/sms)

More info in the press releases (NL version/FR version) of the mobile operators.

First game app for iPhone, developped by MobileWeb

MobileWeb.be has launched a new iPhone app, called the Missing Number Game.  This is the first game app that we have developped, mostly to further extend our knowledge and expertise of the development of mobile apps and the submission into the App Store.  The game itself consists of an IQ test, where you have to complete the numerical sequence.  The users who solve the sequences in a minimum of time can reach the top 25 of highest scores.

Missing Number Game is available as a free download in the Apple App Store: http://itunes.apple.com/be/app/missing-number-game/id328299810?mt=8

Store your SMS messages forever

Many people store old SMS messages on their mobile.  Romantic messages from your lover, or a sweet message from a friend,…  But often those messages get lost when you buy a new phone.  Sounds familiar?

Now you can save those precious messages on the website smsforever.be.  The intiative comes from Alexandre Baudoux, who is also behind rendezvous.be.
You simply send the SMS messages to the number 3040.  You also add a password which gives access to your personal smsforever account.
The website offers the possibility to categorize the messages, to print them and to add pictures.

The first 10 messages are for free.  After that, you can take a subscription for 6 months or a full year for respectively 9 or 15 euro.

Smsforever.be was developed in collaboration with MobileWeb.be
